I had high hopes for Superbad considering its Judd Apatow connections, but this movie might as well have been called “American Pie Presents: Superbad.” There were a lot of funny moments, sure, but I can’t recall any that really stand out.
The other thing is I’ve already seen most of the funny moments and characters before in other movies/TV shows: the dorky white kid wanna-be pimp, chubby dude and his no luck with the ladies, the awkward nice guy making moves to get the girl but wacky, crazy hijinx occur and you’re left to wonder if he’ll get her in the end.
Rental/wait for cable.
